Message to the Clan

As I grow older I have many warm memories of love and kindness that I am so thankful for.  Also the natural beauty all around us.
I am thankful for being thought of with a letter, card, call, hugs, smiles, tears and laughter, all the little things to cheer me when I'm sad, lonely or sick.  Also for happy and troubled times.  As we learn patience, love, sharing and guidance from the bad things too.
Memories are gifts that can never be taken away from us.  They are our treasures in life.  Always look for the good in people we meet.  Have a good attitude toward life.  Make the best of the future, life is short, so lets make sure our priorities are right with Christ Jesus.
I have had to get strength from God all my life with my trials of being widowed at 40 years of age with four children at home to raise.  Then seven years later I lost my only son who was 29 years and granddaughter who was 2 years old.  Then lost my daughter-in-law two years ago.  I was so thankful for my faith.  This year I went for a six month cancer check and I was still cancer free after five years.  I still have to continue on medication as being a high risk.  I also have a loving, caring partner of life of 38 years now.
You can't let trials destroy you emotionally.  Appreciate the things you do have and be thankful for them and every day of life.
I am also thankful for having loving parents who taught me as a child growing up the knowledge, wisdom and strong moral values of life that have carried on thru me to my family.  I have strong unconditional love as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother for all of you, and loved ones, family and friends.
Lovingly,
Irene O. Flowerday
